Max Payne 3 in December — US retailers

I keep forgetting there’s actually a third Max Payne game set for release. It’s been such a long gap between the second and third compared to the first two that I wonder what could be taking them so long. I mean, it’s no Duke Nukem Forever, but even some of us more patient players have our limits. And now we might finally have ourselves a date.

Bioware: Mass Effect 3 is an ending and a beginning

Trilogies never end in videogames. As soon as the proverbial lid is closed on a seemingly concluded game series, it is then jimmied open for another expansion of the games universe. It now seems that sci-fi shooter RPG epic Mass Effect will be now going the same way as Halo as Bioware announce that the third in the series will be both an ending and a beginning.

Minecraft surpasses 2.5m sales

It just goes to show that building large structures with nothing but your imagination and patience is still popular. Already a popular indie game, Minecraft has showed that the concept is a profitable one as it has now sold over 2.5 million copies. This news was announced by Markus Persson, the creator of the game, on his Twitter feed. “2.5 million sales!” announced Persson, “That’s as much as Diablo 1 and Far Cry, according to Wikipedia.”

DNF’s ‘First Access’ demo appears imminent

So it turns out that the sudden move to a June release wasn’t a sign that the Duke could be jetpacking back to development hell. As well as the reassuring trailers that Gearbox have been releasing recently, a ‘first access’ demo is looking for a release next week.

New Assassin’s Creed reveal teases date

New Black Ops DLC coming

With no news yet of the next in the series of Call of Duty, what better time than to release new content for the last game. Call of Duty: Black Ops will be getting a second aim at more maps with the upcoming Escalation map pack. In this pack will feature 4 new multiplayer maps and a new zombie map.

Back to the Future PS3 release date confirmed

There seems to be a trend with reviving films from the 1980’s recently and that hasn’t shown sign of stopping soon with the release of a Back To The Future game. Portal 2 to feature user-made levels on all platforms

How do you make a near perfect game even more perfect? User-made content usually does the trick, otherwise it’s just a case of adding zombies where there were no zombies before. With Valve’s sequel to the pride of The Orange Box months away from international release, news of user-created Portal 2 levels being available on all formats has just warped in.
